EDWARDSBURG, Mich. — Dr. Jacquelyn D. "Jackie" Collins, 70, of Edwardsburg, Michigan, passed away Thursday, Sept. 27, 2018, at Elkhart General Hospital.

A native of South Bend, she was born to the late Joseph and Violet (Smith) Winter. She married Richard O. Collins in 1970. Richard survives as well as their son, Sean Collins, and his wife, Nicole.

Jackie was a senior lecturer in the English Department at IUSB. She received her Ph.D. from the University of Notre Dame. Her area of study was prose fiction.

Jackie loved horses and owned several. She enjoyed showing horses and equestrian events including English riding, western riding and trail.

Per her wises, cremation was chosen, under the care of Billings Funeral Home and Altera Cremation Services.
