Jacqueline M. "Jackie" Laird, 70, of Elkhart, passed away on Friday, March 25, 2022, at St. Joseph Regional Medical Center. She was born on April 13, 1951, in South Bend to the late Garland "Guy" Hostetter and Alyce (White) Freshour. Jackie is also preceded in death by her loving husband of 39 years, Michael Laird and is survived by her son, Steven Laird.

Visitation will take place on Wednesday, March 30, 2022, from 4-6 p.m. at Billings Funeral Home, 812 Baldwin St. in Elkhart. Cremation will take place following the visitation.

Jackie was a kind and caring woman with a good sense of humor. She worked as a production worker for local companies and was involved in a knitting group in New Carlisle where she worked on crafts with the friends she made there. Jackie loved knitting and crocheting little hats for local hospitals to give to newborn infants. She also was an astounding cook and baker who was well known for her famous lasagna. One of her son's fondest memories was traveling to Rochester, Minnesota with Jackie to spend time with family. Jackie will be missed greatly by her family and many friends.
