Jackie worked most of his adult life in the RV industry and was employed at Thor in Elkhart at the time of his passing. Besides the knowledge he possessed in pursuit of his trade, Jackie was into working on cars. In fact, souping up and customizing cars was sort of a "thing" for Jackie, and he followed his passion with great vigor. Recently, he had purchased a Honda from the mother of one of his friends who had passed away. He took that car and accessorized it until it was like the ones used in the movie series "Fast and the Furious" (which, obviously, was one of Jackie's most favorite movie series.) In fact, Jackie had won a show award for the car. He also belonged to the "mycru" sportscar club.
Jackie was very athletic and had played in just about every sport during high school. This athleticism kept him busy snowboarding in the winter and surfing in the summer, but his main pastime was fishing and hunting. Jackie's son Brody and he just this past fall had gotten the biggest deer yet.
Jackie was a fine father, and he loved his children with all his heart. He took this cue from his step-dad Jon, who had always considered Jackie as his own son as he was growing up. Jackie was also a devout Chicago Bears and Notre Dame fan as well.
Please visit the funeral home's website and Jackie's obituary page to leave condolences and memories. Memorial donations may be made on behalf of Jackie Ray Wallace Memorial Fund, set up at the First Source Bank on East Bristol Street to help further his children's education.
