Jackie (Jack) L. Kindle, 87, passed away peacefully at home on Monday, January 23, 2023, with his loving daughter Katrina at his side after an extended illness. Jack was born in Elkhart on July 22,1935, to Floyd and Edna (Lovejoy) Kindle. He married Frances Bowlby in Elkhart on June 5, 1960, and they adopted two children, Katrina and Barry. Frances preceded Jack in death and Jack later married Marion Edwards, (also preceding in death) in Winter Garden, FL.
Jack is survived by his daughter Katrina (Tom) Canarecci, grandson, Benjamin (Megan) Russo, granddaughter Lillian (Peter) Searle, great grandson Vincenzo Russo, and sister Diane Rief.
Son, Barry, granddaughter Celine, brother Gene, and sisters Beverly Rouch and Nylene Culveyhouse preceded Jack in death.
Jack attended Indiana University in Bloomington where he played trumpet in the marching band. He proudly served in the United States Army. He and his family were longtime members of Castle United Methodist Church in Elkhart where Jack enjoyed being part of the choir. Jack, Fran and Barry moved to Florida in 1987. After retirement, Jack enjoyed being outdoors and gardening in his yard. Alongside friends he loved to Karaoke and entertain on stage. An avid Elvis Presley fan, Jack performed and competed as "The King of Jacks" an Elvis impersonator for many years bringing joy to many. He worked part-time as a greeter at Wal-Mart where he sang to shoppers and performed the National Anthem at noon during his shifts.
A celebration of life will take place at a later date. Billings Funeral Home is assisting the family with arrangements.
