Jack R. Doutlick, 88, residing in Elkhart, passed away peacefully Saturday morning, October 3, 2020 at Golden Living Center in Elkhart. Jack was born on September 20, 1932 in Bristol, Indiana and graduated from Bristol High School. After graduation, Jack heard the call of duty and enlisted in the United States Air Force. He served from 1951 until his honorable discharge in 1955, achieving the rank of Staff Sergeant. He was also a member of the Middlebury American Legion Post #210.
Jack spent a period of his life as a farmer. He was a self-employed business owner in Middlebury of the Longbranch Saloon; a local favorite watering hole in Middlebury which he ran for 20 years. Jack was an avid golfer and enjoyed fishing.
On May 3, 1958 Jack married Norma J. (Yoder); she survives as well as two sons, Scott (Lisa) Doutlick, Shaun (Rebecca) Doutlick; 8 grandchildren, 6 great grandchildren and his sister Donna.
In addition to his parents Otto and Mary, a son Kevin Doutlick and daughter Shari Shefelton preceded him in death.
Graveside services for Mr. Jack R. Doutlick will be held on Tuesday, October 6, 2020 at 11:00 a.m. at Ft. Custer National Cemetery in Augusta Michigan. Military honors will be rendered by the U.S. Air Force Funeral Honor Guard.
