She was born March 14, 1930, in Kentucky, to George and Bertha (Criswell) Thompson. She married Vincent Vellucci in 1971 and moved to Hawaii.
He survives, along with one daughter, Judy S. (Soto) Maciulski of Elkhart, Ind.; one granddaughter; one sister, Dorothy Matthews of South Bend, Ind.; and two brothers, George Harlan Thompson of Indianapolis and Ralph Criswell of Cooksville, Tenn.
She was preceded in death by one brother, Thomas Thompson; and four sisters, Jean Myers, Josephine McCloud, Wynema Bowling and Irene Young.
Funeral services will take place at 2 p.m. Sunday at First Church of God, 2411 S. Sixth St., Elkhart, with Pastor Tom Brown officiating.
Billings Funeral Home, 812 Baldwin St., Elkhart, is in charge of arrangements.
Mrs. Vellucci worked at Saint Mary's Convent of South Bend as a nurse's aide prior to 1971. She also was a foster parent for babies of the welfare department and was known as a fine seamstress. She had raised Chihuahuas for some time.
Mrs. Vellucci's body has been donated to science at the University of Hawaii.
