Iris June (Carrick) Vaughn- Metzger, 92, of Goshen, went to be with her Lord and Savior on Saturday, April 9, 2022 at her home she shared with her daughter. June was born on September 28,1929 in Manchester, Tenn. to the late Nuburn and Gladys (Galbreath) Carrick. Surviving is a daughter Kathy S. (George) Dolshenko; four grandchildren, Marc, Shawn, Jennifer, and Melissa; as well as three great grandchildren; two brothers Leroy Carrick and Layton Carrick and her sister Carlene Boutwell.

June was preceded in death by her husbands, W C Vaughn, and Rineholt Metzger; two sons, Dennis Vaughn, Billy Gene Vaughn; brothers, Kenneth Carrick, Billy Joe Carrick, Randall Carrick, and a sister Irene Carter.

June was raised in the Free Will Baptist religion. She was extremely outgoing and friendly. She loved her flowers and gardening, loved animals, especially her Dachshund's Jolene and Daisy. June also loved and collected birds, her favorite, being hummingbirds.

Funeral services for Iris June Metzler will begin at 1:00 p.m. with visitation 2 hours prior on Wednesday, April 13, 2022 at Billings Funeral Home, 812 Baldwin St. Elkhart. Burial will follow at Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens. In lieu of flowers, memorials are kindly requested to the Humane Society of Elkhart County.
