ELKHART -- Ila Jean Adams, 86, of Elkhart, died at 3:45 p.m. Sunday (Aug. 3, 2008) in Riverside Village, Elkhart.

She was born Sept. 23, 1921, in Coldwater, Mich., to David Clinton and Eda (Blanche) Young. On July 25, 1946, she married Harold Beach Adams in Coldwater. He died Feb. 6, 1999.

Mrs. Adams is survived by one son, Stephen B. (Becky) Adams of Elkhart; one daughter, Deborah (Tony) Russo of Elkhart; and one grandson.

She was preceded in death by one stepson, Thomas L. Bates; two brothers, Raymond and Donald Young; and three sisters, Georgie Jolley, Hilda Lucille Frederick and Nellie Young.

Mrs. Adams was a homemaker and former member of the Ladies of the Moose in Elkhart. She enjoyed visiting the Blue Chip Casino, going to Las Vegas and playing cards with her friends.

There will be no visitation or services. Cremation has taken place. A graveside service will be at a later date in Oak Grove Cemetery, Coldwater.
