Ida "Granny" Lavern Williams, of Elkhart, passed away just a couple weeks short of her 93rd birthday on Thursday, January 18, 2024 at East Lake Nursing and Rehabilitation.

Ida was born on January 31, 1931 in Elkhart, IN to Myron and Amanda (Hostetler) Newell. She married the love of her life Charles "Bud" J. Williams Jr. in Elkhart. He passed away in 1962.

Ida is preceded in death by her parents; and her 10 brothers and sisters, Jay, Gene, Merle, Levon, Wyler, Lamar, Rollin, Devon, Esther and Dorothy.

Ida is survived by her sons, Martin (Marcia) Williams and Glenn Ray Williams, both of Elkhart; grandson, Joe Burns; great grandchildren, Dillon and Sylvia Burns; great great grandson, Noah; niece, Mo Bracker and nephew, Jay (Barb) Newell.

Ida loved the Lord with all her heart. She was a Sunday school teacher at Grace Baptist Church for many years. She worked at Woodcrest and retired at Patrick Plywood now Patrick Industries.

In her spare time, she was an avid reader, especially Amish literature and romance novels as well as word search. Feeding the ducks at High Dive Park was a favorite past time.

A Graveside Service will be held at Prairie Street Cemetery at a later date.
