ELKHART — Hugh M. Rush, 91, of Elkhart, passed away peacefully of natural causes at Elkhart General Hospital Saturday, July 8, 2017.

He was born, in Elkhart, May 31, 1926, to the late Jessie and Pearl (Smith) Rush.

He married Evelyn L. Redd on Feb. 3, 1968, in Lima, Ohio. She passed in 2011.

Surviving are children Marvin Rush of Goshen, Charles Rush of Elkhart and Carolyn (James) Goddard of Elkhart, and five grandchildren.

All of Hugh's siblings have preceded him in death.

Billings Funeral Home of Elkhart will host visitation from 5-7 p.m. Thursday, July 13, followed by a funeral at 1 p.m. Friday, July 14, with visitation at noon.

Pastors Dan Gelatt and Stephen Wesco will officiate and burial will follow in Prairie Street Cemetery in Elkhart with military honors.

Hugh was a self-employed mechanical engineer who worked on bucket and aerial extension trucks. He was a devout Christian and enjoyed attending several area churches.
