ELKHART — Honey Lou Mann, 81, of Elkhart, went home to be with her Lord at 9:58 p.m. Monday, May 28, 2012, at Parkland Regional Medical Center in Fort Wayne after an extended illness.
She was born on Dec. 4, 1930, in Elkhart to the late Otto W. and Helen (Shafer) Ganger.
Surviving are her daughters, Paula R. Bryant of Mount Vernon, Ohio, and Leona F. Wilson-Mann of Elkhart; and grandsons Scott B. Mann of Chicago (who was adopted and raised as a son) and Joshua Bryant of Mount Vernon.
A funeral Mass will be celebrated at Trinity Lutheran Church in Elkhart at 11 a.m. Thursday, May 31, 2012. Pastors Robert Schallhorn and Spencer Mielke of the church will officiate.
Following her wishes, cremation will take place following the Mass. Billings Funeral Home, Elkhart, has been assisting the family with arrangements.
She retired from Miles Laboratories in 1993 after 43 years. She was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church, the Miles "Quarter Century" Club and was a former member of the church's Elder's Guild and the Braille Workers Organization.
Memorial donations can be given to the church's Braille Workers Guild.
