WICHITA, Kan. -- Homer Lee Taylor, 52, of 4416 E. Central, formerly of Elkhart, Ind., died Friday (June 1, 2007) in Via Christy Regional Medical Center, Wichita, after a sudden illness.

He was born Nov. 30, 1954, in Sikeston, Mo., to Cephus and Ollie Bell (Causey) Clark.

He is survived by his special friend, Debra Davis of Wichita; one son, Raychard Barham of Elkhart; one daughter, Trenese Barham of Elkhart; one grandson; three brothers, Mangle "M.L." (Diana) Causey, Jimmie (Paula) Clark and Charles Taylor, all of Elkhart; and five sisters, Dorothy Powell, Ruth Wiley and the Rev. Mary (the Rev. Wayne) Malone, all of Elkhart, and Mable (Claude) Davis and Maybell (Willie) Lane, both of South Bend.

He was preceded in death by his parents; one sister, Chinese Taylor; and one brother, Robert Taylor.

Friends may call one hour prior to the 11 a.m. Saturday funeral service at Open Gate Praise & Deliverance Ministries, 137 Division St., Elkhart. The Rev. Wayne Malone of the ministry will officiate. Burial will follow in Little Pine Cemetery, Goshen. Billings Funeral Home, 812 Baldwin St., Elkhart, is in charge of arrangements.

Mr. Taylor worked in the RV transport industry until his health forced his early retirement. He was a 1974 graduate of Elkhart Central High School, where he played on the football team. He was a member of Open Gate Praise & Deliverance Ministries, enjoyed his family and was always happy.
