A Lasting Memory
Henry Lee Sharp of Elkhart, Indiana passed away peacefully at the age of 84 on April 10, 2023, at the Center for Hospice Care in Mishawaka, Indiana. He was a beloved husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather. Henry was born on October 19, 1938, in Trenton, Tennessee to Robert Lee Sharp and Addie Mae (Walker) Sharp who preceded him in death.
Henry graduated from Rosewald High School in Trenton, Tennessee and married the love of his life on November 20, 1961, Joanne (Russell) Sharp, who has preceded him in death on November 4, 2018.
Henry was an accomplished Forklift Operator at Elkhart Foundry for many years, he also worked as a Security Guard until 2021. He was an active Pilgrim Rest Member for many years, which he and wife enjoyed attending.
In addition, in Henry's spare time he enjoyed bowling in leagues, watching cowboy movies and was an avid softball and Lakers Basketball Fan amongst many other professional sports. For a while he even coached the softball and winter basketball league for the Elkhart community for many years. He also had a passion for dogs and enjoyed breeding and raising them.
Henry was also preceded in death by his grandson Justin Sharp. He is survived by his 4 sons Terence LeNere Sharp (Marjorie), Vincent Fernando Sharp, Efram Cortez Sharp all of Elkhart, Indiana and Kenny Sharp of Trenton, Tennessee. He is additionally survived by his brother Billy Sharp of Jackson, Tennessee and sisters Patty Lawrence of Granger, Indiana and Martha Mance of Indianapolis, Indiana as well as 13 grandchildren, 26 grandchildren and a host of loving nieces, nephews, and friends.
In closing, Henry will always be remembered as a quiet and humble family man who loved laughing and spending time with his loved ones. He will be deeply missed by all who knew him.
