Obituary

SALTVILLE, VA - Henry "Fooney" Collins, age 73, passed away on August 24, 2017. Henry was predeceased by his parents, Roy and Ruth Henderson Collins and several brothers and sisters. Fooney had an extremely witty personality that never left him even through the many health tribulations he suffered the last several years of his life. His jokes and characterizations of people he knew was enough to make everyone smile and laugh. He was a joy to be around because you never knew what he would come up with next. His unique humor will be missed by many. He is survived by a daughter Beth Ann Null, a grandson Thomas Null II and his wife Angel, 2 Great Grandchildren Dakota and Kaylyn all of Indiana. Brothers Paul (Bossy) Collins and his friend Sue Hall of Saltville, Va. Sammy Collins and his wife Connie of Saltville, Va. Bobby Wayne Collins and his wife Diane of Indiana Sisters Martha Gobble of Saltville, Va. JoAnn Presnell and her husband Kenneth of Saltville, Va. Patricia Colpetzer and her husband Jimmy of Indiana Christine (Susie) Wiederman and her husband Charles of Indiana Also survived by many nieces, nephews and numerous friends Funeral Services for Henry "Fooney" Collins will be conducted at 4:00 p.m. Sunday, August 27, 2017 in the D.R. Henderson Funeral Home with Elder Kenneth Presnell and Pastor James Gentry officiating. Burial will follow in the Mount Pleasant Cemetery. Pallbearers will be: Richey (Bird) Collins, Jamie Collins, Michael Gobble, Mark Gobble, Ronnie Collins, Anthony Collins, Devon Collins and Cyrus Kestner. The family will receive friends from 2 until 4 p.m. Prior to the service. The family would like to offer a special thank you to everyone at Valley Health Care where Henry made his home for the last several years and to everyone at Smyth County Community Hospital especially Dr. Miller. Billings Funeral Home, Elkhart is assisting with local services.
