UNION, Mich. -- Helen J. (Przewoznik) Rusnak, 76, of Union, formerly of Edwardsburg, died at 9:05 p.m. Wednesday (Oct. 8, 2008) in Cass County Medical Care Facility.

She was born April 6, 1932, in Chicago to Antoni and Apolonia (Piwowar) Przewoznik. On Sept. 4, 1977, she married James Rusnak in Palos Park, Ill. He died Feb. 19, 2008, in South Bend, Ind.

Mrs. Rusnak is survived by her friend and caregiver, Arlene (Lou) Dempsey of Union, and her Four Square Restaurant friends.

She was preceded in death by one son, Theodore "Teddy" Kalisz Jr.

Mrs. Rusnak was a homemaker and had worked at the World Famous Chocolate Co., Chicago, and for the secretary of state in Illinois. She was a member of Our Lady of the Lake Catholic Church and the Women's Auxiliary of the American Legion Post 365. She enjoyed traveling and spending holidays with her friends, the Dempseys.

Friends may call two hours prior to Monday's noon Mass of Christian Burial at Our Lady of the Lake Catholic Church, 24832 U.S. 12 E., Edwardsburg. Father Joe McCormick will officiate, and a meal will follow in the fellowship hall. Burial will be at 1 p.m. Wednesday in Resurrection Cemetery, Chicago. All times are Eastern Standard Time.
