Harriet "Gidget" Porter, 76, formerly of Tomahawk, Wisconsin, passed away on Monday, December 18, 2023 at her home in Elkhart, IN.
Harriet was born on January 24, 1947 in Columbus, OH to the late Carmen and Caterina "Kay" (Luciano) Eternicka. She was married to her husband Pete Porter, who passed away in 2017.
She is also preceded in death by her brothers, Ronald and Gerald Eternicka
Gidget is survived by her boyfriend, Jeff Thornton; sisters, Suzanne "Sue" (Willis) Bunyon, Darlene Lehman and Geraldine (Larry) Edgren; several nieces and nephews and her furry companion, Terri.
Harriet affectionately known as "Gidget" was a nurse's assistant in the healthcare industry.
Gidget was very proud of her Wisconsin roots. She was an avid Green Bay Packers fan. In her younger days, Gidget was an excellent pool player, competing in tournaments. Gidget could be found playing cards with her friends at BJ Stars in Elkhart.
Gidget also enjoyed floating on the lake and being under the sun.
Gidget was a joyful woman and full of life. She will be greatly missed.
A Celebration of Life for Gidget will be held in the summer of 2024.
