WAKARUSA — Harriet M. Harrington, 88, of Wakarusa, and formerly of the Heaton Lake neighborhood of Elkhart, passed away at 1:15 a.m. Saturday, Jan. 14, 2012, at Miller's Merry Manor in Wakarusa.
She was born on Feb. 1, 1923, in Wakarusa, to the late Ivo and Samantha (Loucks) Lienhart. She later married Glen Harrington in 1944 in Albion. He passed away in Elkhart in 1992.
Surviving are daughters Susan (Keith) Yoder of Wakarusa and Lorna (David) Long and Debra (Jerry) Stevens, both of Elkhart, as well as six grandchildren, six stepgrandchildren, two great-grandchildren and 12 stepgreat-grandchildren.
In accordance to Harriet's wishes, a private service will be at Billings Funeral Home with burial to follow at Olive Cemetery in Elkhart. A celebration of Harriet's life will take place at Faith United Methodist Church, 22045 C.R. 18, Goshen, from 4 to 7 p.m. Sunday, Jan. 29, 2012.
Harriet had worked at the Elkhart Truth for nearly 25 years and enjoyed homemaking and crocheting.
