Harold E. Rose, 85, of Elkhart, passed away on Saturday, December 5, 2020 at the Center for Hospice in Elkhart. He was born on July 21, 1935 in Elkhart to the late Peter and Pearl (Frick) Ross.

Harold is survived by his loving wife, Flora E. Rose; son, Timothy Allen (Kelly) Rose; daughter, Judith A. (Duane) McCloughan; stepsons, Lynn (Naomi) Kauffman, Daniel Davidson, and Mark Davidson; stepdaughters, Rae Ann (Dan) Landis and Julia (David) Berkshire; numerous grandchildren and great grandchildren; and nephew, Derek (Marilyn) Rose. He is preceded in death by his parents, stepdaughter, Karin Rabine; sister, Marjorie Ross; and brothers, Melvin Ross and Don Rose.

In accordance with Harold's wishes, cremation was chosen. A private visitation with a memorial service will be held at Billings Funeral Home, 812 Baldwin St. in Elkhart with the service to be officiated by Pastor Tim Fisher of Crossroads Community Church of the Nazarene. A graveside service will be held on Wednesday, December 16, 2020 at 2:00 p.m. at Prairie Street Cemetery, 301 W Hively Ave, Elkhart, IN 46516. Harold always carried a smile and had never met a stranger. He married the love of his life, Flora, on April 29, 1978 and attended Crossroads Community Church of the Nazarene for many years. Harold worked for Elkhart Products as a supervisor for over 30 years and was a member of Gideons International and volunteered at YFC Lifeline for several years. In his spare time, Harold loved to fish, travel, take care of his house and lawn, and spend time with his family every chance he had. Harold always enjoyed cracking a joke or two and remained in good spirits even during the last moments of his life. He will be missed greatly by his loving family and many friends.
