Obituary

BRISTOL — Harold D. "Pete" Keller, 84, of Bristol, passed away Wednesday, Aug. 27, at Elkhart General Hospital.

He was born Dec. 3, 1929, in Elkhart to Lloyd and Florence (Bellows) Keller.

On Dec. 28, 1946, he married the late Mary Alice (Bourn) Keller in Elkhart. She preceded him in death March 18, 1993.

Survivors include one son, Craig (Buling) Keller of Fort Wayne; one daughter, Sue Keller of Bristol; one sister, Mary Messner of West Palm Beach, Fla.; and two granddaughters, Kristi Keller of Champaign, Ill., and Kim Keller of Fort Wayne.

In addition to his wife and parents, he was preceded in death by one son, Charlie Keller, and one brother, Homer Keller.

Pete proudly served in the U.S. Air Force from 1947-1950. He worked as a carpenter in the Elkhart area for more than 45 years and later worked at BRD Supply in Bristol prior to his retirement in 2006.

He enjoyed golfing, watching sports on television and spending time helping numerous family and friends with construction projects.

A gathering of family and friends will be from 5 to 8 p.m. Tuesday, Sept. 2, at Billings Funeral Home, 812 Baldwin St., Elkhart.

Memorial contributions may be made to ADEC or the Humane Society of Elkhart County in memory of Pete.
