Harold L. (Big H) Palmer, 69, of Elkhart, passed away Wednesday, October 10, at Elkhart Hospice House. A native of South Bend and graduate of North Liberty High School, Harold was born on February 24, 1949 to the late Howard and Ruth (Barbknecht) Palmer. He was also preceded in death by 2 brothers, Edward and Jack Palmer.

He is survived by a sister, Evelyn M. Ransbottom, sister-in-law Joyce Palmer; nephew Dean Ransbottom, 2 nieces Debra (Gary) Duckett and Tiffany Ransbottom; also many grand and great grand nieces and nephews and his significant other and caregiver Katie Huffman, survive as well.

Harold worked for most of his life tending bar and also worked construction for a while. He was an avid sports fan, especially the Indianapolis Colts and Notre Dame.

Per his wishes, cremation was chosen under the care and direction of Billings Funeral Home & Cremation Services.
