She was born on Sept. 13, 1913, in Elkhart to James and Flossie (Shreiner) VanTilburg. On Oct. 23, 1932, she married Raymond Harry Fisher. He died on July 17, 1969.

Mrs. Fisher and her husband owned and operated the Swiss Kitchen on Bower Street and Fisher's Catering. She worked many jobs as she got older. Retirement was difficult for her active lifestyle. Mrs. Fisher loved to garden and sew. She created quilts for her family members that will always be cherished. She also took great pride in her family, especially those who served in the armed forces.
The family will receive friends on Sunday, Sept. 6, 2009, from 3 to 6 p.m., at Billings Funeral Home, 812 Baldwin St., Elkhart. A private graveside service will take place at a later date with Pastor Steve Campagana of the Goshen First Church of God officiating.
