Gloria E. Young, 89, of Elkhart, passed away on Friday, July 24, 2026, at Raclin House. She was born in Dubuque, IA on May 15, 1937, to the late Cristo Milcoff and Elizabeth (Gulyash) Milcoff.

Gloria is preceded in death by her siblings, George, Julia, John, Mary, Leo, Betty, Rich, Don, Vic, Roger, and Ronnie. She is survived by her loving husband of 67 years, Ronald L. “Ron” Young of Elkhart; children, Brenda (Dan) Bryant of Elkhart and Mark (Kristin) Young of Spring Hill, TN; grandchildren, Jason (Erin McLaughlin) Bryant of Granger, IN, Kimberly (E.J.) Rodriguez, and Joseph (Ally) Bryant, both of Middlebury, IN; great grandchildren, Aiden, Raigen, Sawyer, Sloan, Arbor, Rowen; brother, Chuck (Shirley) Milcoff of Titusville, FL; sister, Ruthie (Gene) Skwiat of Laporte, IN; and many more in her large extended family.

Visitation will take place on Thursday, July 30, 2026, from 2 to 4 p.m. EDT at Billings Funeral Home, 812 Baldwin St. in Elkhart with a service to follow at 4:00 p.m. Gloria will be laid to rest on Friday, July 31, 2026, at 2:00 p.m. EDT at New Carlisle Cemetery, 849 W Michigan St, New Carlisle, IN 46552.

Gloria was the eighth child of 14 children in her family. She loved in being part of a large family and enjoyed watching her own family grow after she married Ron in December of 1958. Gloria was a hard worker who took pride in her work and how it helped others. She worked in housekeeping for the doctors at the Elkhart Clinic for 15 years and also cleaned for “Mrs. B” of the Billings family who enjoyed her company and greatly appreciated her services.

Gloria was very independent and lived her life to the fullest, regardless of her health. She loved traveling and she & Ron visited almost all 50 states as well as parts of Canada. When Gloria traveled she enjoyed visiting relatives & friends, especially when she returned to Iowa where she grew up. She was a very social woman who’d never met a stranger. Gloria could sit in a restaurant alone and never be lonely because she would find someone to talk to while enjoying a cup of coffee.

Country music was one of her passions and she often went to see her favorite artists. Sometimes she was able to meet the performers in person. Gloria was never afraid to go to a concert alone; she went to see Gene Autry twice by herself. Music was in her heart and she never missed a chance to sing or dance. Gloria also enjoyed tending to her garden where she would grow her favorite Roses of Sharon, Lilacs, and Lilies, and at times had a large vegetable garden. Words cannot express how much Gloria will be greatly missed by her loving family and many friends. She was a bright light in the world to many.
