Gloria J. (Helmuth) Lipp, 90, of Elkhart, passed away peacefully on Sunday, July 30, 2023, at Greenleaf Health Campus. Gloria was born on November 21, 1932 in Elkhart, to the late Irvin and Thelma L. (Detwiler) Helmuth-Reed. She married Paul V. Lipp on September 12, 1950, Paul passed away on March 7, 2000. Surviving are two daughters Deborah A. (Eddie) Hernandez, Sue E. Schwartz, and her son David A. (Kathryn) Lipp. Also, six loving grandchildren and fourteen great grandchildren.

Her son Paul E. "Gene" Lipp, sister Nancy Shaffer and son-in-law Benjamin Schwartz preceded her in death.

Gloria was a longtime, active member of St. Vincent dePaul Catholic Church, she belonged to the Daughters of Isabella, a Catholic organization for women that does charity work. Gloria also enjoyed watching and feeding birds and volunteered for many years at the Knights of Columbus fish fries and on Dyngus Day.

Friends may call from 6 pm to 8 Pm Thursday, August 3, at Billings Funeral Home, 812 Baldwin St. Elkhart. A parish rosary will be prayed at 7:30 pm. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11:00 a.m. Friday, August 4, with 1 hour calling prior at St. Vincent dePaul Catholic Church. Rev. Zane Langenbrunner will officiate. Burial will follow at St. Vincent Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, the family kindly request memorials to the St. Vincent dePaul Society. Condolences may be made on-line at www.billingsfuneralhome.com.
