ELKHART -- Glenn L. "Red" Thompson, 79, of 54253 Southwood Drive, died Monday (June 26, 2006) at his home.

He was born July 22, 1926, in South Bend to Harvey L. and Mable (McCarthy) Thompson.

He is survived by one sister, Ilene (Erwin) Wright of Osceola. He was preceded in death by two brothers and one sister.

Friends may call one hour prior to the 11 a.m. Friday memorial service at Faith Community Church, Osceola. Pastor Randy Smith of the church will officiate, and cremation will take place.

Mr. Thompson was formerly employed at Studebaker Corp. and Chippewa Bowl in South Bend and had worked as manager of Owens Gas Station in Elkhart. He was a U.S. Navy veteran of World War II and enjoyed golfing and bowling.
