Gladys F. Akin, 84, of Elkhart, passed away peacefully of natural causes on Saturday, March 30, 2019 at her home. She was born on January 16, 1935 in Elkhart to the late Otis and Ethel (Cook) Hibshman. In addition to her parents, husband Paul A. Akin, daughter Teri L. Akin, and her precious cocker spaniel fur baby Chelsea Lynn, preceded her in death.

Surviving is a son Gregory (Cheryl) Akin, daughters, Christine (Louis) Larson, Laura Akin, and her longtime companion Jason Landsaw; four grandchildren; and 11 great grandchildren.

Gladys enjoyed buying and selling the items she found at garage sales, estate sales and auctions.

She also enjoyed collecting glass baskets, dolls and perfume bottles.

Friends and family are invited from 5-7 p.m. Wednesday, at Billings Funeral Home, to share memories, share stories and celebrate Gladys's life. Per her wishes, cremation was chosen.
