MISHAWAKA — Gizella Valentine Duwelius, 91, of Mishawaka, passed away of natural causes at 4:30 a.m. Wednesday, Sept. 12, 2012, at Michiana Health and Rehabilitation Center in Mishawaka.
She was born in Elkhart on Feb. 14, 1921, to the late Thomas and Marie (Egrasitz) Sturm.
She married Kenneth J. Duwelius on April 3, 1948. He survives in Mishawaka.
Also surviving are a daughter, Debra Duwelius of Mishawaka; a sister, Mary Jones of Elkhart; three grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by a daughter, Jacquelyn Knight; and three brothers.
There will be no services. A private burial was Thursday, Sept. 13, 2012, at St. Vincent de Paul Catholic Cemetery.
Arrangements are under the care and direction of Billings Funeral Home in Elkhart.
Memorial donations may be given to the Adrian Dominican Sisters, 1257 E. Siena Drive, Adrian, MI 49221.
