ELKHART — Gilbert R. "Gib" McKenzie, 64, of Elkhart, passed away peacefully on Thursday, Sept. 13, 2018.

He was born in Indianapolis on June 3, 1954, to the late Glenn McKenzie Jr. and Marguerite (Randell) McKenzie, who survives.

Surviving are a daughter, Shannon McKenzie; stepchildren Margie Bowling, Tess Camacho and Chris Moseman; siblings Carol (Robert) and Glenn McKenie III; and four stepgrandchildren.

A talented and accomplished athlete in high school, Gib's passion for sports remained throughout his life. He was an avid Chicago Cubs fan. Gib's relentless persistence in all endeavors yielded an honorable academic record and a highly successful professional career. He loved listening to music and fishing, and belonged to the Simonton Lake Sportsman's Club, but the light of his life was his precious daughter.

No services have been scheduled and Billings Funeral Home has been assisting with arrangements.
