ELKHART -- Geraldine Mae Ullery, 80, of Elkhart, died at 4:45 p.m. Monday (June 1, 2009) in Valley View Nursing and Rehabilitation Center.
She was born Feb. 3, 1929, in Osceola to Renaldo and Gladys (Killinger) Watkins.
Mrs. Ullery is survived by two sons, Donald L. "Butch" (Diana L.) Vickers of Mishawaka and Michael L. Vickers of Elkhart; one daughter, Sandra K. (Thomas N.) O'Neil of Elkhart; one stepson, Kevin L. (Marci L.) Ullery of South Bend; seven grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; and one brother, James E. (Jan) Selner of White Pigeon, Mich.
She was preceded in death by two husbands, Donald Vickers and Kenneth Ullery; one granddaughter, Denise Vickers; and two brothers, Richard and Gordon Watkins.
Mrs. Ullery was a silver solderer at W.T. Armstrong Co., Elkhart, (now UMI, a division of Conn Selmer) for nearly 40 years, retiring in 1990. She was a former member of DAV 19 Ladies Auxiliary and the Women of the Moose Elkhart Lodge 599.
She loved to spend time with her family, play Uno and tend her flower garden. She enjoyed debating with people and was an avid animal lover. Dogs and birds were her favorites.
Friends may call Friday from 10 until the 11 a.m. funeral service at Billings Funeral Home, 812 Baldwin St., Elkhart. Capt. Steve Woodard of the Salvation Army of Elkhart will officiate. Cremation will follow the service, with burial at a later date in Prairie Street Cemetery, Elkhart.
