Obituary

ELKHART — George V. Macys, 81, of Elkhart, passed away Sunday, Feb. 22, at Elkhart Rehabilitation Center.

He was born June 9, 1933, in Kaunas, Lithuania, to Vytautas S. and Domicele (Petrikaityte) Macys.

Survivors include two sons, Paul Hays of Rolling Meadows, Ill., and Mark Macys of Florida; one daughter, April Macys of Florida; one brother, Richard Macys of Granger; and two grandchildren, Kai and Caiden Hays, both of Rolling Meadows.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by one sister, Dalia Macys.

George proudly served in the U.S. Army during the Korean War. He later worked for several years as an accountant, prior to his retirement.

Inurnment of his cremated remains will be at 1 p.m. Thursday, March 5, in Marion National Cemetery in Marion.

Billings Funeral Home, 812 Baldwin St., Elkhart, is entrusted with arrangements.
