Mr. George L. Lytell, 92, of Elkhart, passed away peacefully of natural causes at the O'Neill Healthcare Facility in Bay Village, OH on Monday, Dec. 17, 2018.

He was born in Kendallville on Mar. 12, 1926 to the late William and Nora (Mottinger) Lytell, and leaves behind his beloved spouse Betty Myers.

Also surviving are children Laura (Kevin) Hueni, George Lytell, Jr., John (Jeanne), Michael (Starr), Donald (Naela) and Luke Lytell; sisters Norma (Stan) Bender and June Strater; 15 grandchildren and many great grandchildren. George is preceded by a daughter, Betsy Lytell Smith and siblings Lorraine Mangum and Orrie, Larson and Paul Lytell.

George's memory will be honored with a graveside service and burial at Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens in Osceola on Friday, Dec. 21, 2018 at 11:00 am. Pastor Mike Cramer of the New Life Church will officiate and military honors will be rendered by the US Army Funeral Honor Guard and Osceola DAV 308. Billings Funeral Home is assisting the family with the arrangements.

George spent most of his life as a successful realtor in the Michiana area. He was also an avid runner and golfer. He belonged to the Old Orchard Golf Club as well as being a 32nd degree Mason, a member of the Elkhart Elks #425, and a US Army WWII veteran. He will be best remembered for his unique storytelling and always having a harmonica nearby and ready to play and entertain.
