She was born Jan. 29, 1919, in Chicago to Joseph and Kathryn (Kandziorski) Strzelecki. She married Joseph Martin Sobucki on May 8, 1937, in Chicago. He died March 9, 1991.

Mrs. Sobucki is survived by five daughters, Mary (Riley) Thomsen of Dalton, Ill., Barbara (Jim) Dalton of Ellijay, Ga., Sue (Kenneth) Ward of Elkhart, Betty (Richard) Jarecki of Crete, Ill., and Brenda (Wayne) Majkowski of Hammond, Ill.; two sons, John Sobucki of Lansing, Ill., and Michael (Karen) Sobucki of Lansing, Ill.; 18 grandchildren; several great-grandchildren; and several great-great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by two brothers, Harry and Adam Strzelecki; and two sisters, Clara Cudar and Emily Nalepa.

Friends may call one hour prior to Saturday's 11:30 a.m. Mass of Christian Burial at St. Thomas the Apostle Catholic Church. The Rev. Bill Sullivan of St. Thomas will officiate. Cremation will follow the Mass, with burial at a later date in Holy Cross Cemetery, Calumet City, Ill. Billings Funeral Home, 812 Baldwin St., Elkhart, is in charge of arrangements.

Mrs. Sobucki was a homemaker who worked hard providing for her seven children.
