Obituary
GOSHEN- Gene L. Yowell, 75, of Goshen, passed away Monday, November 30, 2015 at I.U. Health Goshen Hospital.
He was born February 24, 1940 in Newburg, MO to Gene Yowell and Dorothy V. (Morse) Foreman.
Survivors include 3 sons, Daniel (Tamra) Yowell, Aric Yowell and Mark Yowell, all of Goshen; 1 daughter, Christina (Keith) Purdue of Goshen; 1 brother, Walter (Jan) Foreman of Bristol; 13 grandchildren and 1 great-grandson.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by 1 sister, Mary Foreman and 1 brother, Richard Yowell.
Gene proudly served in the US Army during the Vietnam War. He was later employed as a commercial truck driver for several years prior to his retirement.
Gene often enjoyed taking walks, watching movies, traveling and was an avid reader.
The family will receive friends from 6:00 until 8:00 PM on Tuesday, December 8th and 1 hour prior to the 1:00 PM funeral service on Wednesday, December 9th at Billings Funeral Home, 812 Baldwin Street, Elkhart. Pastor Bryon Smith will officiate.
Interment will follow in Oak Ridge Cemetery, Bristol.
Graveside military rites will be rendered by the US Army and the DAV 19.
