Gary Franklin Reynolds, 65, of Elkhart, passed away after a lengthy illness on Monday, September 7, 2026 at his home.

Gary was born on February 22, 1961 in Ironton, OH to Charles and Eula (Trimble) Reynolds.

He is preceded in death by his siblings, Donna Faye, Diana Dema, Larry, Michael and Billy.

Gary is survived by his son, Alan Reynolds of Elkhart, former daughter-n-law and caregiver, Samantha (Sammie) Harris of Elkhart; ex-wife and mother of his son, Cheryl Reynolds of Edwardsburg, MI and extended family and friends, Don (Hope) Reynolds, Bobby (Viki) Reynolds, Ron Reynolds, James (Sharon) Trimble, Dawn Harris, Laura Poarch and Ameranda Grey as well as many aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces and nephews.

Gary worked at Owens Corning until illness prevented him from working. For the last six months of his life, he was lovingly cared for by his former daughter-in-law, Sammie Harris.

In his spare time, Gary enjoyed shopping trips with Laura, Dawn, and Sammie. He was an avid card player who especially loved games of Skip-Bo and Euchre, and he always enjoyed listening to country music. Gary took great pride in keeping his surroundings clean and immaculate. Later in life, he found joy in relaxing and watching his favorite game shows.

Known for his great sense of humor, Gary loved a good time and was deeply loved by everyone who knew him.

There will be a celebration of Gary’s service at a later date.

Per the family’s request, Gary will be cremated.
