Gary Richard Peterson, 67, of Lake Station, IN, went Home to be with his Lord on Saturday, May 14, 2022 at Golden Living Center in Portage, IN.

Gary was born on February 6, 1955 in Cincinnati, OH to Vernon and Marian (Shoemaker) Peterson.

He is preceded in death by his parents.

Gary is survived by his sister, Cynthia "Cinda" (Ronald) Bailey of Elkhart; Niece, Angie (Larry) Walters and Nephew, Andrew Cour (Tara).

Gary was a 1973 graduate of Penn High School in Mishawaka. He worked for his brother-in-law, Ron for many years. Gary was also a well driller at Tabor. He was an inventor at heart. Gary had a brilliant mind and was always learning about the mechanics of how things worked.  He was known as a laid back and reserved guy.

A Funeral Service for Gary will be held at 2:00 pm on Monday, May 23, 2022 at Billings Funeral Home, 812 Baldwin St., Elkhart, IN 46514.

Visitation will be 1 hour prior to the start of service from 1:00 pm to 2:00 pm at the funeral home.

Gary will have a graveside service at Riverview Cemetery at a later date.
