ELKHART - Gary O. Freeman Jr., 53, of Elkhart, passed away unexpectedly Sunday evening, December 20, 2015 at Elkhart General Hospital.
Gary was born on October 3, 1962 in South Bend to Gary O. and Joyce A. (Opelt) Freeman Sr. He married the love of his life, Kay L. Randall on January 8, 1983 in Elkhart, surviving is his wife of 32 years, Kay L. Freeman of Elkhart, son, Neil (Rebecca) Freeman of Ringgold, Ga., and his daughter Franchesca (Nick) DeLucenay of Auburn; four grandchildren whom he adored, Emilie, Vanessa Freeman and Judah, Lyra DeLucenay; mother, Joyce A. Freeman of Elkhart; and a sister Annette (Ray) Freeman-Miller of South Bend.
Gary was preceded in death by his father Gary O. Freeman Sr. in 2007.
Gary was a 1981 graduate of Elkhart Central High School. He was currently employed with ProAir in Elkhart, as an Assistant Engineering Manager. Gary was an avid Harley Davidson enthusiast and a member of HOG (Harley Owners Group.)
Gary was an amazing man with a kind heart; he was a loving husband, father, son and brother. He will be greatly missed by all who loved him.
A gathering of family and friends will be held from 4-8 p.m. Monday, December 28, 2015 at the Billings Funeral Home, 812 Baldwin St. Elkhart. In keeping with his wishes, cremation will follow the gathering.
