Garry Carroll Courier, 76, of Elkhart, passed away on Friday, June 19, 2026 at Elkhart General Hospital.

Garry was born on August 29, 1949 in Springfield, IL to the late, Dan L. Courier and Alberta (Toliver) Courier. He married Kathy (Wokeck) Courier in 2007.

Garry is preceded in death by his son, Gary Brian Courier in 2021.

Garry is survived by his wife of 18 years, Kathy of Elkhart; children, Eric (Janeth) Courier, Justin Courier, Scott (Dawn) Copenhaver and Shannon Hagerty; 17 grandchildren; 2 great grandchildren and brother Dan (Barb) Courier.

Garry was an over-the-road truck driver for many years retiring from REK Express. He and his wife Kathy were members of the Moose Lodge.

In his spare time, Garry enjoyed being outdoors and camping. He spent much of his time time, mowing his “perfect” lawn. He also baked cakes and cookies. Garry enjoyed watching westerns such as Gunsmoke with his wife.

Most of all, he adored spending time with his grandchildren.

Garry was fun to be around, hard working and would also give the shirt off of his own back.

Friends and family may gather 1 hour prior to the start of the service from 11:00 am EST to 12:00 pm EST, Thursday, July 23, 2026 at the funeral home.

There will be a Memorial Service for Garry at 12:00 pm EST on Thursday, July 23, 2026 at Billings Funeral Home, 812 Baldwin St., Elkhart, IN 46514 with Pastor Jeremy Sarber officiating.

A private burial will be on Friday, July 24, 2026 at Monks Cemetery in Michigan.
