Freda Mae Hamilton, 92, of Elkhart, passed away on Wednesday, February 3, 2021 at Elkhart Meadows.

Freda was born in Sylva, NC on November 29, 1928 to the late, Roy Hensley and Dellie R. (Redmon) Stines. She is preceded in death by her granddaughter, Heather and brothers, Robert E. Hensley and Wilburn Hensley.

Freda is survived by her children, Harold Eugene Hensley, Charles R. (Amy) Lovely, Patricia A. Barrentine, Debra K. (Danny) Hollandsworth; brothers, Clarence G. (Juanita) Stines, Jr.,Kenneth Wayne (Eva Mae) Stines and Harold F. (Joann) Stines; sister-in-law, Shirley Hensley; 7 grandchildren, Jan Jr.,Christina, Jessica, Dusty, Tricia, Tanya and Sherman Lee Jr., and 8 great grandchildren.

Freda was a machine operator with AEC and Stockco in Elkhart. She was a member of the VFW Ladies Auxillary 88 and American Legion Post....Freda enjoyed crocheting. She had a green thumb and was known for her house plants and cacti. Freda loved collecting "knick knacks" including porcelain dolls and stuffed animals.

There will be no visitation or services for Freda. Cremation was chosen. Billings Funeral Home, 812 Baldwin St., Elkhart, Indiana 46514 is assisting the family.
