Friends may call from 6 to 8 p.m. today at Billings Funeral Home, 812 Baldwin St., Elkhart. The funeral service will be at 9 a.m. Friday at the funeral home with Pastor James Pettit of First Baptist Church officiating. Burial will be in Prairie Street Cemetery with military graveside honors rendered by the U.S. Army military burial detail.
He was born March 19, 1922, in Hannibal, Mo., to Marquis and Mary (Herron) Willey. He married Doris I. Eckert on May 30, 1941, in Elkhart.
She survives along with four sons, Larry (Nancy) Willey of Coloma, Mich., Roland (Sharon) Willey of Elkhart, Ivan (Dawn) Willey of Wyoming, Mich., and Don (Devon) Willey of Celina, Ohio; 13 grandchildren; 18 great-grandchildren; and one sister, Mary Rouch of Goshen.
Mr. Willey was preceded in death by one daughter, Judith Ann Willey; one grandson, Isaac Willey; and two brothers, Ray and Henry Willey.
Mr. Willey retired in 1980 from Taylor Products, where he had worked for 27 years as a tool and die maker. He then worked at L.E. Johnson Products for three years as a tool and die maker. He was a member of First Baptist Church and a U.S. Army World War II veteran.
