Francisca Catalina Gonzalez, 89, of Elkhart, passed away on Saturday, September 14, 2024, at home surrounded by her loving family. She was born on March 9, 1935, in Nogales, Mexico to the late Guillermo and Josefa (Garza) Landa. On December 26, 1955, Francisca married the love of her life, Mariano Gonzalez.

Francisca is survived by her loving husband of 68 years, Mariano; daughters, Juanita Gonzalez, Maria Del Rosario Gonzalez, Maria Anita Hernandez, and Liliana Ochoa; sons, Martin, and Roberto Gonzales; daughter-in-law, M. Patricia Gonzalez; sons-in-law, Roy Ochoa, and Michael Hernandez; grandchildren, G. Taiz (Eliazar Venegas) Yareli, and Kayla Gonzalez; and a loving host of extended family, friends, and acquaintances.

In accordance with Francisca's wishes, cremation has been chosen. Billings Funeral Home of Elkhart is assisting with arrangements.

Francisca, along with her family, were members of the Elkhart West Kingdom Hall of Jehovah's Witnesses since June of 1975. She was also a wonderful homemaker, taking pride in cleaning and caring for her home and family throughout her life.

In her spare time, Francisca enjoyed cooking for others, most notably making homemade flour tortillas, spending time with family, and caring for animals.

Francisca will best be remembered as a wonderful wife, mother, and grandmother who had a sweet, hospitable soul. She, along with all the love and joy she shared, will be dearly missed by those whose hearts she touched throughout her life.

Nació el 9 de marzo de 1935 en Nogales, México, hija de Guillermo y Josefa (Garza) Landa. El 26 de diciembre de 1955, Francisca se casó con el amor de su vida, Mariano González.

A Francisca le sobrevive su amado esposo de 68 años, Mariano; hijas, Juanita González, María Del Rosario González, María Anita Hernández y Liliana Ochoa; hijos, Martín y Roberto Gonzales; nuera, M. Patricia González; yernos, Roy Ochoa y Michael Hernández; nietos, G. Taiz (Eliazar Venegas) Yareli y Kayla González; y una amorosa hueste de familiares, amigos y conocidos.

De acuerdo con los deseos de Francisca, se ha optado por la cremación. La Funeraria Billings de Elkhart está ayudando con los arreglos.

Francisca, junto con su familia, eran miembros del Salón del Reino de Elkhart West de los testigos de Jehová desde junio de 1975. También fue una maravillosa ama de casa, enorgulleciéndose de limpiar y cuidar su hogar y su familia durante toda su vida.

En su tiempo libre, a Francisca le gustaba cocinar para los demás, sobre todo hacer tortillas de harina caseras, pasar tiempo con la familia y cuidar de los animales.

Francisca será recordada como una maravillosa esposa, madre y abuela que tenía un alma dulce y hospitalaria. Ella, junto con todo el amor y la alegría que compartió, será muy extrañada por aquellos cuyos corazones tocó a lo largo de su vida.
