ELKHART -- Frances Jean (Bibbo) Brenneman, 88, residing in Elkhart, passed away Friday morning Oct. 1, 2010, at her home.


She was born Nov. 26, 1921, in Elkhart, to the late Nicholas and Josephine (Cinelli) Bibbo. She married Clifford "Cliff" Brenneman in Wakarusa, on May 24, 1942. He passed away on July 15, 2005.


Surviving are her son, Thomas (Judy) Brenneman of Cape Coral, Fla., and her daughter, Jan Rach of Elkhart. There are seven grandchildren, 18 great-grandchildren and a sister, Lena Bibbo of Elkhart, who survive as well.


Frances was preceded in death by her daughter, Karen Parrott; brother Anthony Bibbo; and her sisters, Rose Fumarolo, Jean Herrick and Mary Fortino.


Frances was a homemaker and a 1940 graduate of Elkhart High School, where she played in the band. Frances was a woman of faith and a longtime member of St. Thomas the Apostle Catholic Church, as well as the Rosary Society. She enjoyed gardening and was an avid Cubs and Notre Dame fan. She was very involved with her family, driving all her nieces and nephews to many activities over the years.


Visitation was Monday, Oct. 4, 2010, at Billings Funeral Home, 812 Baldwin St. Elkhart. There will be calling for one-half hour prior to the Mass of Christian Burial at 10 a.m. today, Oct. 5, 2010, at St. Thomas the Apostle Catholic Church, 1405 N. Main St. Elkhart. Father Bill Sullivan will celebrate. Graveside services and burial will follow at St. Vincent Cemetery.


The family would like to give a special thank-you to her wonderful caregivers Irene, Becky, Jennie, Liz, Julia and Marilyn.
