Obituary
Fran Marie Ellert, 84, residing at Greenleaf Health Campus, passed away Saturday morning, Jan. 21, at her residence.
Fran was born on Dec. 21, 1932, in Silver Lake, to the late Percy and Florence Petgen. She married Robert J. "Bob" Ellert on Jan. 7, 1967, in Elkhart. Bob passed away on March 21, 2012.
In addition to her husband, a brother and three sisters preceded her in death.
Surviving is a sister, Myrtle Butler of Three Rivers, Mich.; close friend and caregiver, Ryan E. Klase of Elkhart; close friends, John and Sharon Hartman of Edwardsburg, Mich.; dear friend, Lois Froehlich of Luckey, Ohio; and many nieces and nephews.
Fran formerly worked as a teller at First National Bank in Elkhart. Fran also was a merchandiser at various retailers. She formerly attended St. Thomas the Apostle Catholic Church with her husband, Bob. Fran at one time was very involved with and an active member and volunteer with the former South Bend Civitan International Club. Fran loved going to the Moose Lodge and traveling.
Visitation for Fran will be from 10 a.m. to noon Wednesday with a funeral service at noon at Billings Funeral Home, 812 Baldwin St. Pastor Gary Sheets will officiate. Burial will follow at St. Vincent Cemetery, Elkhart.
