INDIANAPOLIS -- Florence C. "Toots" Troyer, 85, of 8505 Woodfield Crossing Blvd., formerly of 1682 Edgebrook Court, Goshen, died at 9 a.m. Thursday (Dec. 13, 2007) in The Forum at the Crossing, Indianapolis.

She was born Jan. 20, 1922, in Elkhart to Jerry and Goldie (Lechlitner) Willard. She married Oliver Lowell. He died in 1957. She married Alvin "Al" Troyer on Jan. 16, 1971, in Elkhart.

He survives in Goshen along with one daughter, Sandra (David) Magner of Carmel; two stepsons, Dale E. (Jan) Troyer of Goshen and Steven L. Troyer of South Bend; two grandchildren; four stepgrandchildren; one stepgreat-grandchild; one brother, Walter Willard of Elkhart; and two sisters, Bertha "Bert" Brown of Bristol and Delores Brown of Seaside, Fla.

She was preceded in death by four brothers, Robert, Russell, Ivan and John Willard; and three sisters, Pearl Kane, Bernice Campbell and Ruth.

Friends may call from 4 to 6 p.m. Sunday at Billings Funeral Home, 812 Baldwin St., Elkhart and one hour prior to Monday's 11 a.m. funeral service at the funeral home. The Rev. Keith McFarren of Faith United Methodist Church will officiate. Burial will follow in Prairie Street Cemetery, Elkhart.

Mrs. Troyer worked as a trimmer at Elkhart Rubber for more than 15 years. She also was employed by Bayer Corp. She was a nurturing person, who raised all of her younger siblings and cared for her sick relatives. She was a member of Goshen Moose Lodge 836 and enjoyed playing bingo.
