ELKHART -- Florence L. Linton, 90, of Elkhart, died at 11:55 p.m. Thursday (Aug. 21, 2008) at Eastlake Nursing and Rehabilitation Center.

She was born Aug. 18, 1918, in Mishawaka to John W. and Mary Francis (Gehart) Lamb. On Dec. 1, 1950, she married Arshel J. Linton in Mishawaka. He preceded her in death Feb. 1, 1984.

She is survived by one daughter, Susan (Tony) Steckley of Elkhart; four sons, Johnny W. (Cory) Linton of Elkhart, Ron Linton of Edwardsburg Mich., Don (Eleanor) Linton of Bristol and Larry Linton of San Diego; one sister, Lucille Freeman, of Mishawaka; 20 grandchildren; and several great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by one daughter, Shirley Cowles-Frankenberger; one brother, Johnny Lamb; and two sisters, Agnes and Mary Lamb.

Friends may call Sept. 4 from 6 to 8 p.m. at the Billings Funeral Home, 812 Baldwin St., Elkhart. Cremation has taken place, with burial at a later date.

Mrs. Linton was a homemaker and formerly worked at the Ball Band Co. in Mishawaka and the Singer Sewing Machine Co. in South Bend. She liked to crochet in her spare time.
