ELKHART -- Florence M. Drummond, 93, of Elkhart, died at 1:13 a.m. Tuesday (May 25, 2010) in Beardsley House.

She was born May 28, 1916, in Elkhart, to Charles W. and Cora M. (Muffley) Stout. She married Delford J. Drummond on June 22, 1935, in Elkhart. He died April 5, 2003.

She is survived by son Jeffrey C. (Carol A.) Drummond of Bristol, grandchildren Jeff Jr., Jason and Scott Drummond; three great-granchildren; and sister Dorothy Grove of Elkhart.

She was preceded in death by brother Murray Stout and sister Ruby Stout.

Florence formerly worked in the billing department at Juhl Advertising, then worked for her husband at Drummond Advertising in the office as secretary/treasurer until she retired in the 1980s. Florence was a 1934 graduate of Elkhart High School and a charter member of Elcona Country Club, where she and her husband liked to curl. She also enjoyed golfing at the Elcona and Elks and bowling. Florence liked to do needlepoint, crochet and was an avid reader.

A gathering of family and friends will be from 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday at Billings Funeral Home, 812 Baldwin St., Elkhart. No services are planned. Cremation has taken place.
