Obituary
ELKHART — Evelyn C. Monschein, 59, of Elkhart, passed away late Wednesday April 27, at Kindred Hospital of Northern Indiana after a courageous battle with ALS.
She was born on Dec. 1, 1956, in Tacoma Park, Md., to Thomas and Shirley (Douglas) Hamilton. She married Richard W. Monschein on Nov. 31, 2001, in Elkhart.
Evelyn is survived by her husband, Richard; children Michael V. Ambrose Jr. of Elkhart, Lynn A. Corbin of King George, Va., and stepson Ricky Monschein of Elkhart; grandchildren Skyler Ambrose and Dylan Monschein; mother Shirley Hamilton of Glen Burnie, Md.; and sisters Joan (Rob) Jordan of Glen Burnie, and Lorrie (Rick) Moreland of Annapolis, Md.
She was preceded in death by her father, Thomas, and grandmother Mimi Douglas.
Evelyn worked at Whitehall Laboratories for 15 years and in the office at Hubbard Hill Estates. She enjoyed camping, making crafts, painting and miniatures.
A gathering of family and friends will be from 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday, May 4, at Billings Funeral Home, 812 Baldwin St. Per Evelyn's wishes, cremation was chosen.
