ELKHART -- Evelyn Irene Lung, 78, of Elkhart, died Wednesday (Aug. 11, 2010) at 8:08 a.m. at Golden Living Center in Elkhart.
She was born March 25, 1932, to the late Arthur and Verla Irene (Douglas) Smith in Bowling Green, Mo.
She is survived by daughter Barbara (Frank) Wittendorf of Constantine, Mich.; sons Randall (Duveen) Lung of Mattawan, Ill., Timothy (Betty) Lung of Elkhart and Kevin (Vicki) Lung of Colorado Springs, Colo.; 12 grandchildren; five great-granchildren; and brother Ronald (Suzanne) Smith of Elkhart.
She was preceded in death by brother Donald Smith.
Evelyn retired from Elkhart General Hospital, where she worked as a ward secretary for 13 years. She enjoyed doing word search puzzles and crafts, and, at one time, had collected bells and spoons.
Friends and family may call one hour prior to the 11 a.m. celebration of life service Monday, Aug. 16, 2010, at Billings Funeral Home, 812 Baldwin St., Elkhart. Pastor James Pettit of First Baptist Church, Elkhart, will officiate. Burial and graveside services will follow at Oakridge Cemetery in Goshen .
