ELKHART — Evelyn Jean Harwell, 73, of Elkhart, passed away Thursday, Jan. 24, 2013, at Eastlake Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Elkhart.
She was born Jan. 30, 1939, in Elkhart to Roscoe L. and Madeline J. (Misner) Eggleston. On May 22, 1954, she married the late Jimmie N. Harwell in Athens, Ala. He passed away on Sept. 23, 1978.
Survivors include two daughters, Phyllis (Bruce) Gates of Elkhart and Connie (Ron) Landis of Killeen, Texas; son Larry (Jackie) Harwell of Delta Junction, Alaska; two sisters, Linda (John) Davis of Elkhart and Diane Lunquist of Harriman, Tenn.; special longtime friend Marti Llewellyn of Elkhart; three grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; and nieces and nephews.
In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by a sister, Donna Pena.
The family will receive friends for one hour prior to the 1 p.m. funeral service Monday, Jan. 28, 2013, at Billings Funeral Home, 812 Baldwin St., Elkhart. Pastor Gary Sheets will officiate. Interment will follow in Prairie Street Cemetery in Elkhart.
