ELKHART -- Esther L. Witherspoon, 78, of Elkhart, died at 7:32 p.m. Saturday (Jan. 2, 2010) at Hospice House of Elkhart.
She was born May 15, 1931, in Parke County to George N. and Carma F. (Martin) Glosson. She married Robert Witherspoon in Elkhart.
She is survived by three sons, William (Valerie) Sanders of Texas, David Sanders of Elkhart and Robert Witherspoon of Washington; two daughters, Shirley (Carl) Wahmhoff of Michigan and Dana Nunez of California; two sisters, Janet S. (Tim) Germann of Osceola and Ruth E. Rodibaugh of New Port Richey, Fla.; one brother, Joseph (Eunice) Glosson of Williamsburg, Va.; and several grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents and her husband.
Mrs. Witherspoon worked at CTS in Elkhart for 17 years before moving to Santee, Calif., for 15 years. She moved back to Elkhart and worked at Bayer for 10 years before retiring in 2000. She had a large collection of books and was an avid reader.
Cremation has taken place. There will be no visitation.
