IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Ernest G.
Moore
September 29, 1938 – March 3, 2007
He was born Sept. 29, 1938, in Shelbyville, Tenn., to Steven Leonie and Hester Belle (Roton) Moore. On Feb. 14, 1987, in Elkhart, he married Marcille L. "Marcie" Lamkin.
She survives, along with a son, Ricky Gene (Holly) Moore of Elkhart; a stepson, Ryan R. Elliott of Jacksonville, Fla.; a stepdaughter, Tina R. Hembree of Elkhart; and two grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by a son, Ronald W. Moore; and three brothers, Jack, Frank and Clyde Moore.
Friends may call today from 6 to 8 p.m. at Billings Funeral Home, 812 Baldwin St., Elkhart. A procession will leave from the funeral home at 9:45 a.m. Tuesday for graveside services scheduled for 10 a.m. at Rice Cemetery. The Rev. John Drexler of First Brethren Church, Goshen, will officiate.
Mr. Moore retired from the RV/mobile home industry. A "jack of all trades," he was a self-employed carpenter working for various apartment owners in Elkhart. He had been a vendor at the Shipshewana Flea Market and at Borkholder's Dutch Village in Nappanee. He graduated from Shelbyville High School. He was a perfectionist when it came to yard work, and he enjoyed country music, donkeys and mules.
