Eric James Pringle, 61, of Elkhart, passed away on Sunday, August 30, 2026 at his home.

Eric was born on October 14, 1964 in Elkhart, IN to James and Mary Lee (Hapner) Pringle.

He married his dream girl, Mary (McCreary) Pringle on May 4, 2013 in Elkhart.

He is preceded in death by his close grandmother, Ruth Pringle; sisters, Susan “Shelley” Rody and Karen Lindsey.

Eric is survived by his wife of 13 years, Mary Pringle; parents, James and Mary Lee Pringe; stepdaughter, Geneva Wheetley; grandchildren, Jordan Comacho and Liliana Anderson, sister, Becky Pringle; brother-in-laws, Chris Rody and David Lindsey; nieces and nephews, Lauren (Richard) Rody, Tyler (Hailey) Rody and Alex Zylman, several great nieces and nephews and many friends.

Eric graduated from Memorial High School in 1983. He became a highly skilled concrete finisher who dedicated his life to his trade. He most recently worked at JA Wagner Construction and previously at Ancon Construction.

An avid sportsman and outdoorsman, Eric found joy in life’s simple and active pleasures. Eric was happiest spending time in nature, especially fishing in the quiet waters of Wisconsin or enjoying a round of golf.

He played baseball and softball throughout his entire life, frequently taking the field alongside his colleagues on company teams.

Eric was also a lifelong Chicago Cubs and Chicago Bears fan.

In his spare time, Eric was a true master of the grill. He delighted family and friends with his culinary skills and was especially famous for his specialty wings on the grill.

Eric will be deeply missed by his family, friends, co-workers, and all who were fortunate enough to know him.

Most of all, Eric will be known for his contagious smile, calming nature, and big heart.

A Funeral Service will be held at 12:00 pm on Saturday, September 5, 2026 at Billings Funeral Home, 812 Baldwin St., Elkhart, IN 46514 with Rev. Logan Parrish officiating.

Visitation will be 2 hours prior to the start of the service from 10:00 am to 12:00 pm at the funeral home.

Burial will be at 2:00 pm on Tuesday, September 8, 2026 St. Vincent Catholic Cemetery in Elkhart, IN.
